Pastels
My preferred medium is oil paint, but I also like pastels. Lately I have been doing plein air painting with pastels because it is easier to port my supplies into the woods. I also find that pastel studies are very helpful when I am working on large paintings. The three pastel mountain scenes of aspen groves on the Abyss trail are studies for a large commission.
All pastels are sold as is (unframed - pastels must be framed under glass). Most major credit cards accepted. Please call me or send a note via the contact form if you would like to buy a pastel and pick it up from my studio to avoid shipping costs. If you are buying beyond the Denver/Boulder/Fort Collins area please send me a note and I will let you know what the shipping costs will be and how to add them to your total.
Chatfield ReservoirA little plein air pastel. 2021 8.5"x11" | Aspens on a Creek9.5"x 24" This image is from the Abyss trail, near a creek at the base of mountain. The colors this year were amazing. This is a study for a large painting commission that I am working on. Look for a painting post of this eventually. | Slope of Aspens9.5"x 24" Pictured on the Abyss trail along Guanella Pass, the fall color this year was spectacular. The mountain top was aglow with a gorgeous yellow and orange carpet of aspens. This is a study for a painting commission I am working on. |
